Following their comeback in November 2021, the Nigerian singing duo Peter and Paul Okoye, better known as Psquare, embarked on a world tour in 2022 that allowed them to reconnect with their fans in towns across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. Now, weeks later, they have revealed that the first project of their reunion will be released in 2023. The musicians shared their experiences with 2022 in a message of gratitude to their fans.

Psquare, who completed a “100 cities tour” dubbed the “P-Square Reunion World Tour,” said they made money at every performance last year.

Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P, one half of the legendary pair, made the announcement on social media. He explained that it was a strategic choice not to release a new project in 2022 while they were on tour and interacting with their fans, promising them of the arrival of the new body of work.

Mr. P posted the following on Instagram: “Confession! Yes, there was a strategy behind delaying the release of a new album after the reunion. Because we wanted to spend a year performing our old, beloved classic hits all around the world! And believe @psquare we sold out and profited! And as of right now, dis 2023 will also include a brand-new record. Sense lgbo We appreciate your patience and help, Psquare lovers! Here we go in 2023.”

It’s interesting to note that Psquare will begin their Europe Tour in a few weeks in March and go through May 2023.

Psquare has gained enormous popularity worldwide thanks to their songs, making them one of Africa’s most well-known musical groups for more than a decade. They used Square Records to make and distribute their records (now Square Root Entertainment)

The twin brothers split up in 2017 to focus on their own careers. The numerous award-winning team came to an end as a result. The brothers apologized to their fans during a reunion concert in December 2021, declaring their reconciliation and return as a pair. Since making a comeback, the musical group has so far recorded two songs, “Jaiye” (Ihe Geme) and “Find Somebody.”

They also gave performances abroad, appearing as special guests at Afronation festivals in Ghana and Portugal, where they nostalgically relived past glories. Fans will undoubtedly be excited to hear a new record from the duo, whose music encapsulates several stages in the development of Afrobeats.

Jair Bolsonaro supporters storm Congress in Brazil.

0

Supporters of ex-President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil have stormed the Congress, the Supreme Court, and the presidential palace.

This event takes place just a week after the inauguration of veteran leftist Luiz Inacio da Silva.
Mr. Bolsonaro supporters refused to accept that he had lost the election and smashed through police barriers in Brazil’s capital.

The police used tear gas to try to disperse the protesters, but it was in vain as the protesters smashed the windows and made their way into the Senate chamber, where they jumped onto seats and used benches as slides.

It’s unclear whether they’re still in the building.
Mr. Bolsonaro’s supporters want Mr. da Silva – (AKA) Lula, who defeated his far-right opponent in the October election – to resign and for the military to step in.

This event has been compared to supporters of Donald Trump, an ally of Mr Bolsonaro, storming the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Lula is currently on an official trip in the state of Sao Paulo.
He promised to rebuild a country in “terrible ruins” in his inaugural speech.

He criticized his predecessor’s policies, which included travelling to the United States to avoid the handover ceremony.

Presidential Spokesperson, Garba Shehu on Why I Called Former President Obasanjo A “Morally Dirty Man” For Supporting Peter Obi

0

Olusegun Obasanjo has once again come under fire from Garba Shehu, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant for Media and Publicity, for supporting the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the upcoming election in February.

Obasanjo urged the youth to make sure they vote for the proper people in the various elective roles in a six-page open letter that he published last Sunday.

Additionally, the former president openly endorsed Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, saying that he has a “advantage” over his rivals.

In a recent interview with media personality Kikelomo Atanda-Owo for her TV show, “Real Talk With Kike,” Shehu responded to Obasanjo’s letter by saying that the former president attacked political figures out of anger.

The presidential spokesperson responded, “He didn’t only endorse Peter Obi, if that’s all he did, then it’s absolutely OK, but for the fact that he also attacked the records of our administration for which we felt he required a reply. That’s why we felt he needed a response.

“Normally, we let Obasanjo say anything he wants, and it has no bearing on the accomplishments of our administration. But records must be made, and the truth must be told; for this reason, we replied to him.

“Bola Tinubu is the candidate; the party does not have two candidates in this election, and the president has state duties in addition to the other things he is responsible for overseeing both inside and outside the party, which he cannot fail. The candidate communicates with the president and occasionally provides reports and updates.

Police Are Looking into Kenyan Fashion Designer’s Death

0

The body of young fashion designer Edwin Chiloba was discovered discarded by the side of the road in the town of Eldoret, and the Kenyan police are now looking into his death.

Police have detained a suspect who is thought to be the victim’s acquaintance, but they have not revealed their suspicions.

Additionally, an LGBTQ activist, Edwin Chiloba’s murder has been connected to his sexuality by rights groups in Kenya, where gay intercourse is illegal.

According to one organization, more than half of LGBTQ Kenyans have experienced abuse.

“Words aren’t even adequate to capture how our community is currently experiencing. Yet another life lost to hatred. You will be missed, wrote the rights group galck+ on Twitter.

“Edwin’s death reminds us that queer bodies continue to be under attack all over the country,” the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission wrote on Instagram.

Tributes on social media describe Chiloba, who was in his mid-20s, as “an amazing human” and an “iconic fashion designer”.

Last month Chiloba wrote on Instagram that he was “going to fight for all marginalised people”, saying that he himself had been marginalised.

An activist and friend of Chiloba, Chris Makena says, “he spread love wherever he went, was bold about his existence as a queer man and encouraged many others to do the same.”

A different acquaintance of Chiloba’s claims that he had relocated to Eldoret from the nation’s capital, Nairobi, in 2019 to pursue a career in fashion design.

On Wednesday, his corpse was found.

A witness called the police to report that they saw someone abandoning a metal box by the side of the road in a car without a license plate.

According to Resila Onyango, a police spokesperson, “We don’t know for now why he was slain that manner. The issue is being handled by experts.

According to a different police official, the suspect is believed to have been Chiloba’s longtime acquaintance, the AFP news agency reported.

In Kenya, having gay intercourse can result in up to 14 years in prison. Members of the nation’s LGBTQ community frequently experience stigma and prejudice, despite the fact that the law is rarely implemented, and efforts to decriminalize gay sex have been rebuffed.

The murder of non-binary lesbian Sheila Lumumba last year sparked the hashtag #JusticeForSheila social media campaign.

Following the killings of LGBTQ activist Joash Mosoti and transgender activist Erica Chandra in 2021, similar campaigns were launched.
