The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has announced its intention to take legal action against the Directorate of State Service (DSS) and the state governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia. This is in response to the prolonged detention of four local government chairmen. Bemgba Iortyom, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, shared the plight of the detained chairmen, which includes an elderly woman named Mrs Veronica Gajir, the Ushongo chairman, James Oche who is both the State Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria and the Guma LG chairman, as well as Alfred Atera, the chairmen of Ado and Katsina-Ala local government areas.
