The Court Ruling to Maintain the Order Preventing NLC and TUC from Initiating a Strike Remains in Effect

On Monday, the National Industrial Court affirmed that the injunction prohibiting the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) from proceeding with their proposed strike concerning the removal of fuel subsidy remains valid. Justice Olufunke Anuwe emphasized that the order, granted on June 5, will continue to be in effect until the motion on notice is heard and resolved.

In addition, the Court or­dered that parties maintain the status quo and adjourned the matter until July 20, for a hearing.
