Sanwo-Olu, Others Grace 10th Year Remembrance Of Tinubu’s Mother

On Thursday, the Lagos State Government organized a Fidau (Prayer) ceremony to commemorate the 10th year since the passing of Alhaja Abibatu Ashabi Mogaji, the mother of business magnate and President Bola Tinubu. Despite heavy rainfall, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, accompanied by his wife Ibijoke, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and his wife Oluremi, Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa and his wife Falilat, Chief (Mrs.) Folasade Tinubu-Ojo (Iyaloja-General), members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), state officials, politicians, technocrats, friends, and family of the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji gathered at the Blue Roof in Agidingbi, Ikeja to offer prayers in her memory.

The event was attended by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by Princess Rashidat Adu, the Chairman of Iru/Victoria Island Local Council Development Area (LCDA). Traditional rulers, religious leaders from both Muslim and Christian faiths, as well as market men and women, also joined in large numbers to celebrate the legacy of the late Iyaloja General of Nigeria.

During his address at the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged everyone to emulate the remarkable qualities of the late Abibatu Mogaji and become agents of positive change in their respective communities. He described her as a woman of immense grace, resilience, and a strong advocate for the welfare and development of the grassroots. Additionally, he acknowledged her trailblazing efforts in breaking barriers for women to assume leadership roles in the business sphere.
