NDLEA Busts Drug Trafficking Ring: Synthetic Cannabis and Skunk Confiscated; Arrests Made Across

NDLEA Seizes Large Quantities of Synthetic Cannabis in Port Harcourt and Skunk in Edo State NDLEA, in a joint operation with the Nigeria Customs Service, has confiscated approximately 76.9 kilograms of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis.

The drugs were discovered in four used vehicles inside a container marked MSDU6686346 from Canada at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex in Rivers state. The inspection was carried out between June 1st and June 2nd following intelligence received by the agency. Additionally, a warehouse containing 3,003 kilograms of skunk, a psychotropic substance, was found in Iwe forest in Edo state and subsequently destroyed.

Arrests Made in Kano, Kaduna, Borno, and Oyo States for Drug-related Offenses Multiple arrests have been made in various states regarding drug-related offenses. In Kano state, Ma’aruf Rabiu and Abubakar Mustapha were apprehended with 260 blocks of cannabis, while Auwal Ibrahim was caught with 38 kilograms of the same substance. In Kaduna, Bilkisu Isiya was arrested in possession of 5.6 kilograms of cannabis.

In Borno state, Abubakar Usman (aka Alhaji Mai Kero) and Adamu Yusuf were apprehended with 165 blocks of skunk, and Hauwa Ibrahim was caught with 6.4 kilograms of the psychoactive substance. Additionally, Alhaji Abubakar was arrested at a checkpoint with 4,200 ampoules of pentazocine injection and other tablets. Furthermore, Iroko Wasiu was arrested with 31.2 kilograms of cannabis in Oyo state, and Deji Adelabu and Mutiu Salau were nabbed in possession of 8 kilograms of cannabis in separate incidents.
