President Buhari Marks Historic Day as Nigeria’s Mega Refinery Awaits Inauguration

Today marks a momentous and significant occasion for Nigeria, as the world’s largest single-train refinery construction eagerly awaits its inauguration as Preident Muhammadu Buhari arrives Dangote refinery

This refinery, situated at Dangote Industries Free Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, is designed to process various types of crude oil from Africa, Asia, and America. It will produce an excess of approximately 38 million liters of petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel for Nigeria each day. With a capacity to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day, the refinery converts crude oil into different petroleum products such as diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, and kerosene.

Upon arrival, Buhari was warmly welcomed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, and Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group. The commissioning ceremony of the Dangote Refinery is expected to be attended by at least five African presidents, including President Buhari.

Other esteemed leaders anticipated to be present include Gnassingbé Eyadéma, the President of Togo; Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana; Macky Sall, the President of Senegal; Mohamed Bazoum, the President of Niger Republic; and Mahamat Déby, the President of Chad.
