Paul Pogba’s injury struggles continue as scans have confirmed that the Juventus midfielder suffered a left thigh injury in Sunday’s match against Cremonese, which may bring an end to his season.

The 30-year-old was substituted in the 24th minute after making his first competitive start in over a year. Juventus revealed that the scans revealed a “low-grade lesion of the rectus femoris.” With four games left to play, including a Europa League semi-final second leg at Sevilla, which could lead to the final on 31 May, Pogba’s absence would be a significant blow to Juventus.

Juventus’ statement reads: “The diagnostic tests that Paul Pogba underwent this morning at J|Medical showed a low-grade lesion of the rectus femoris of the left thigh. The footballer has already started the rehabilitation program.”

The French international’s season has been marred by injuries, including calf, knee, and muscular problems, limiting him to only nine substitute appearances before starting against Cremonese.
