Security Breach: Babcock University Website Hacked, School Management Confirms

Babcock University’s management has officially acknowledged that their website was hacked by unknown individuals.

The confirmation was made in a statement released on Wednesday, which was signed by the institution’s Director of Communication & Marketing, Dr Joshua Suleiman.

The statement reads: ”The public is hereby notified that the Babcock University Management Information System has been violated by suspected unscrupulous persons with intent to embarrass. deceive, and defraud unsuspecting university clients and other stakeholders. The criminals had gained unauthorised, illegitimate and illicit access to some Of the University’s clients’ inconsequential records from the front end server of the University, and threatened dire consequences if the University did not reach out to them, They also claimed that the University’s sensitive Information had been compromised,”

“We wish to state that the perpetrators’ access to the said record is ofno significance as it has no meaningful impact on any aspect ofthe University’s operationsand management.”

“We confidently and wholeheartedly reassure our esteemed parents. students and our Other clients and stakeholders that none Of the University’s sensitive information has been broken into or is in unapproved or improper places.”

“Please note that. as a result Of this mindless and vicious interference with our university management information system and in our continued efforts to safeguard all and every official and classified information. the said management intOrmation system is currently unavailable as our team Ofexperts is working to turther reinforce its security to avoid a reoccurrence. Wc are. as well. working with the relevant security agencies to identify the source Ofthe attack.”

“Whereas cyber-attacks have generally assumed a growing phenomenon of concern globally, we in Babcock University remain vigilant.”

“With pleasure, we are glad to inform you that despite the insistent and vigorous attacks on our information platforms. the inbuilt layers of consolidated security features on them have made our information platforms impenetrable to the perpetrators ofthese senseless and ill-motivated cyber-attacks.”

“We assure the publics that all sensitive University information remain unassailable and will always be inaccessible to fraudsters and every otherintruder to the University’s information sites.”
