Isak leads Newcastle in Tottenham dismantling

Newcastle take a huge stride towards securing Champions League football with an outstanding performance to defeat Tottenham 6-1 at St James’ Park.

The Magpies did the damage in an incredible 21-minute spell in the first half, scoring five goals. Jacob Murphy got his side on their way by converting a rebound before Joelinton notched a second. Murphy scored a stunner from distance to notch Newcastle’s third within nine minutes.

Alexander Isak found the net twice in two minutes to pour on the agony for the visitors. Harry Kane got a goal back early in the second half for Spurs, but Callum Wilson restored the five-goal advantage with his first touch to ensure that the Magpies ended the game on a high note.

The win means Newcastle is back to third on the table though having play one game more than Manchester United who occupied the fourth position, tied with Newcastle on points but Newcastle with a better goal difference.
