TalkSPORT has revealed that Barcelona’s manager Xavi has suggested that Spanish wonderkid should stay in Spain and his future lies with the Blaugrana.
The young starlet was offered a contract extension at Barca until 2026 but was deregistered by La Liga owing to the club’s financial problems meaning he’ll be a free agent in the summer.
And Chelsea have made contact with the youngster’s entourage to convince him to move to England considering he’ll be available for free next season.
Xavi said: “I don’t think Gavi would be happy at another club.
“He has everything here. He is 18 years old. He’s a key player of our team.
“For me, he’s a footballer that is outstanding. I don’t know what he’ll decide but I think his future is here at the club.”
