On Monday, aviation workers in Kaduna state commenced a two-day warning strike, causing a shutdown of activities at the airport.
The workers blocked access to the airport by obstructing roads leading to it and locking up offices, including the control tower and terminal building. The employees involved in the strike were from several agencies, including NAMA, NCAA, and NIMET.
Their strike was motivated by various demands they wish to convey to the federal government, which include the non-payment of minimum wage arrears and the abandonment of plans to demolish workers’ offices in Lagos.
