The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has directed the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) to immediately investigate the incident that happened in Lagos State this morning. Sirika expressed his condolences and assured the public that the NSIB is capable of determining both the immediate and underlying causes of the accident and proposing ways to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
Recall that earlier today, Zeewade reported that a collision occurred between a passenger train and a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle that was transporting Lagos State employees near PWD bus-stop in Ikeja, Lagos State. He also requested the public’s cooperation during the NSIB team’s investigation.
According to reports, the collision resulted in two confirmed fatalities and several injuries. The moving train collided with the BRT bus at the PWD bus stop in the Ikeja area of Lagos state on Thursday morning. Sirika commiserated with the government and people of Lagos state.
