The Warrnambool City Council Community Development Fund accepts grant requests from local clubs and organizations for up to $5000 in funding.
Since 1999, Council has sponsored and managed the Community Development Fund to assist Warrnambool-based non-profit organizations in funding initiatives and events that improve the city’s quality of life.
Three categories will each get $140,000 in cash from the council.
• Ecology and sustainability
• Culture and the arts
• Sport and recreation
Although a fund specifically for regional festivals and events is now being formed, an events category was previously included.
The fund, according to Warrnambool Mayor Cr. Debbie Arnott, was one of the year’s high points for Council.
The possibilities for what can be sponsored by the Community Development Fund are vast, she added.
“Because local organizations are the best qualified to understand their needs, I would urge each and every one of them to study the rules and consider how a grant of up to $5,000 could be of assistance.
This fund is one way we can help local clubs and organizations to keep Warrnambool such a great place to live. “Local clubs and groups are the fabric of our community. Warrnambool just wouldn’t be the same without them.”
