Leeds United Seal Premier League Return and Set Up Title Showdown with Burnley

Leeds United have secured promotion back to the Premier League after spending two seasons in the Championship.

To guarantee a top-two finish in the Sky Bet Championship, Daniel Farke’s side needed a win over Stoke City at Elland Road and for Sheffield United to drop points against Burnley at Turf Moor on Easter Monday. Leeds more than held up their end of the bargain, cruising to a dominant 6-0 victory over the Potters, with Joel Piroe stealing the spotlight by netting four goals in a sensational performance.

Later that day, promotion was officially confirmed when Sheffield United fell to a 2-1 defeat against Burnley, sealing Leeds’ return to the top flight for the first time since the 2022/23 campaign, when they finished 19th in the Premier League and were relegated.

With just two games left to play, Leeds and Burnley are now level at the top of the table on 94 points each, setting up an exciting head-to-head battle for the Championship title in the final weeks of the season.
