Como Stun Napoli 2-1, Giving Inter Key Advantage Ahead of Upcoming Clash

Assane Diao and an own goal from Amir Rrahmani handed Como a dramatic 2-1 Serie A victory over title contenders Napoli at the Sinigaglia Stadium on Saturday, a result that gives Inter a crucial advantage as they prepare for their direct clash against the Partenopei next weekend. The win also dealt a significant blow to Napoli’s title hopes, leaving them with a lot to reflect on before facing their fierce rivals.

Como manager Cesc Fabregas made just one forced change to the starting lineup following last week’s 2-0 victory over Fiorentina, with Marc Oliver Kempf coming in for Alberto Dossena. The substitution was a tactical decision, aimed at maintaining the solid defensive structure that had earned them such a comfortable win.

On the other side, Napoli’s manager Antonio Conte made several alterations to his lineup. Matteo Politano was introduced at wing-back, and Leonardo Spinazzola was deployed on the left side, while Philip Billing was handed his debut in place of Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa. The change in midfield was largely driven by Anguissa’s disciplinary situation, as he was just one yellow card away from a suspension, which would have ruled him out of the crucial Inter-Napoli encounter next week.

The result was a major boost for Inter, as it not only brought them closer to the top but also created added pressure for Napoli as they prepare for their pivotal clash against the Milan side.
