Brighton Crush Norwich 4-0 to End Winless Run and Advance in FA Cup

Brighton ended their eight-game winless streak in style, thrashing Norwich 4-0 to advance to the FA Cup fourth round. The Seagulls, who had drawn six of those eight matches, dominated at Carrow Road with a clinical display.

Norwich started brightly and nearly led on 15 minutes when Amankwah Forson hit the post from 25 yards. However, Brighton soon took control, and Georginio Rutter opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a powerful header from Joel Veltman’s cross. Rutter doubled the lead just before halftime, with his shot deflecting off Callum Doyle to beat George Long.

Julio Enciso added a third just before the hour, capitalizing on Brad Hills’ slip to score off the far post. Solly March completed the rout in the 74th minute, curling in a stunning fourth goal, though replays suggested he may have been offside. With no VAR, the goal stood.

Norwich’s only positive came late, as striker Josh Sargent returned from injury in an otherwise bleak afternoon.
