Raphinha Shines as Barcelona Thrash Mallorca to End Winless Run

Barcelona captain Raphinha scored twice to lead his team to a resounding 5-1 victory over Real Mallorca at the Estadi Son Moix, securing their first LaLiga win in a month. Hansi Flick’s side, who had gone three league games without a victory, delivered a dominant second-half display, extending their lead over Real Madrid to four points, though Madrid have two games in hand.

Barça opened the scoring in the 12th minute thanks to a comical mix-up between Mallorca defenders Martin Valjent and Johan Mojica, which allowed Ferran Torres to slot home. The hosts responded just before halftime, with Vedat Muriqi tapping in to finish a swift counterattack.

The equalizer seemed to galvanize Barcelona, who took full control after the break. Raphinha restored their lead in the 56th minute from the penalty spot after teenage sensation Lamine Yamal was fouled. Yamal then delivered a stunning curling cross in the 74th minute, setting up Raphinha’s second goal.

Substitutes Frenkie de Jong and Pau Víctor added late goals, both finishing smartly from inside the box, to complete the rout. The emphatic win sees Barça regain momentum in their title charge, though their lead at the top remains precarious with Real Madrid still holding games in hand.
