Correa’s Last-Minute Strike Stuns PSG as Atletico Madrid Clinch Dramatic 2-1 Victory at Parc des Princes

Angel Correa delivered a last-gasp blow to Paris Saint-Germain, securing a thrilling 2-1 win for Atletico Madrid with a stoppage-time strike that stunned the Parc des Princes. The Champions League showdown seemed destined for a draw after Nahuel Molina had leveled the score, canceling out an earlier opener from PSG’s Warren Zaire-Emery. However, in the 93rd minute, substitute Correa capped off a swift Atletico counter-attack with a composed finish, leaving PSG supporters in disbelief.

PSG started the match on the front foot, signaling their intent within the first minute as Achraf Hakimi fired narrowly wide. They soon broke the deadlock in the 14th minute, punishing Atletico’s defensive lapse. Ousmane Dembele seized upon careless play at the back, quickly feeding Zaire-Emery, who expertly chipped the ball over a stranded Jan Oblak to give the hosts a deserved lead.

Atletico Madrid, however, responded quickly. Just four minutes after conceding, they took advantage of PSG’s inability to clear a cross from the right. A weak defensive header landed at the feet of Molina, who calmly slotted the ball into the net to restore parity.

In the second half, Luis Enrique’s side looked the more dangerous, pressing for a go-ahead goal. Hakimi and Bradley Barcola forced Oblak into action, while Marquinhos directed a header straight at the Atletico goalkeeper. Despite PSG’s offensive push, they struggled to break down Atletico’s disciplined defense.

As the clock wound down and PSG pushed forward in search of a winner, Atletico seized their opportunity on the break. Antoine Griezmann sent a precise cross-field pass to Correa, who cut inside and slotted a low shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose positioning could be questioned. The dramatic late goal exposed PSG’s vulnerabilities, leaving them to reflect on a disappointing night where their defense faltered at a crucial moment.

Atletico left Paris with all three points, while PSG faced questions about missed chances and defensive lapses that ultimately cost them the game.
