Galatasaray are reportedly unwilling to exceed €50 million to secure Napoli’s Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer in January, despite a €75 million release clause set during his loan move. The Turkish champions hope to retain the Nigerian striker, but they lack a purchase option in the current loan agreement with Napoli.
Osimhen’s clause was reduced to €75 million when he joined Galatasaray on loan in September, but according to Turkish outlet Sozcu, the club cannot afford that sum. Instead, the directors plan to reach €50 million with the help of a sponsor to push for a permanent deal in January, aiming to act ahead of other potential suitors.
Galatasaray pursued Osimhen after failing to finalize a transfer for the 25-year-old in August, following talks with Napoli. He joined the Turkish side on loan after the summer transfer window closed in top European leagues and the Saudi Pro League. Osimhen recently confirmed his commitment to stay with Galatasaray through the season’s end.
Meanwhile, Italian sources suggest that Osimhen’s release clause for the January window has been raised to €90 million, though Galatasaray may negotiate a lower price for a permanent transfer.
