Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon has put an end to any speculation about his future by signing a new long-term contract with the club, solidifying his commitment to St James’ Park. The 23-year-old, who joined from Everton in January 2023, had been linked with a potential move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window. However, Gordon has now reaffirmed his place in Eddie Howe’s squad, where he has developed into a key player.

Since his arrival, Gordon has made 74 appearances for Newcastle, contributing 15 goals and 11 assists. His performances have been crucial in the club’s resurgence under Howe, as they continue to climb the ranks in English football. The winger also made his debut in the Champions League last season, gaining invaluable European experience, and earned his first senior England cap during the same campaign. His impressive form led to his inclusion in the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2024.

Reflecting on his new deal, Gordon expressed his enthusiasm for the club’s direction and his strong relationship with manager Eddie Howe. “I think the club is in a fantastic position. Ever since the takeover, things have only been improving. The gaffer and I are a perfect match in terms of playing style, and I absolutely love it here,” Gordon said, emphasizing his desire to continue growing with the team.

With the new contract in place, Gordon is poised to play an even bigger role in Newcastle’s ambitions, both domestically and in Europe, as they look to build on their recent successes.
