Everton Claims 2-0 Victory Over Ipswich for First Away Win of the Season

Everton secured their first away victory of the Premier League season with a 2-0 win over Ipswich at Portman Road, leaving the Tractor Boys still in search of their first win since promotion.

The visitors were clinical, with Iliman Ndiaye scoring in the 17th minute and Michael Keane doubling the lead five minutes before halftime. Ipswich had a chance to take the lead early when Jack Clarke missed a golden opportunity, shooting over the bar. They also had a penalty appeal denied when referee Michael Oliver overturned his initial decision after consulting VAR.

Aro Muric was the busier of the two goalkeepers, while Jordan Pickford had little to do as Everton’s solid defense held strong. Ipswich’s best chance came in the fifth minute, but Clarke blasted over after being set up by Wes Burns.

Everton struck first after a mistake by Burns allowed Ndiaye to score with a powerful shot. Although the referee awarded a penalty for a challenge on Clarke, it was overturned after VAR review. The Toffees extended their lead when Keane found the net from a corner.

In the second half, Everton dominated play, with Ipswich struggling to find their rhythm. Ndiaye nearly added a third but saw his low shot saved by Muric. Despite some late efforts from Ipswich, including shots from Liam Delap and Conor Chaplin, Pickford kept a clean sheet, and Muric denied Calvert-Lewin a third goal late on.
