Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has officially designated Monday, October 7, 2024, as a work-free day for teachers across the state in honor of this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration. This special holiday is intended to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of educators to the development of the state’s educational sector.

As a result, all schools in Ogun State are expected to resume regular academic activities on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Governor Abiodun made the announcement on Saturday during a Teachers’ Day event held at the Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Following the governor’s declaration, the Ogun State chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) issued a reminder to its members on Sunday, urging them to observe the holiday in line with the state government’s directive. The association reaffirmed its support for the holiday as a gesture of appreciation for the hard work and dedication of teachers in the state.
