Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is poised to participate in the club’s next three Premier League fixtures after the club’s appeal against his recent red card was successful.
The news was confirmed in a statement released on the club’s website late Tuesday, titled “Bruno Fernandes Update.”
The statement read: “Bruno Fernandes will be available for Manchester United’s next three games following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal. The midfielder was sent off for serious foul play during the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, 29 September.”
Fernandes had originally been handed a suspension that would have seen him miss crucial league matches against Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Ham. However, due to the successful appeal, he is now eligible to play in these upcoming games.
Fernandes was shown a straight red card following a challenge on James Maddison in the match against Tottenham. This decision initially ruled him out of action for the next three matches, but with the appeal upheld, the midfielder will be available for selection once again.
