Antoine Griezmann, one of the most decorated footballers in French history, has officially announced his retirement from international football at the age of 33.
Over the course of his remarkable career with the French national team, Griezmann earned 137 caps, scored 44 goals, and provided 38 assists. His contributions were instrumental in some of France’s greatest achievements on the world stage. He played a key role in leading France to victory in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2021 UEFA Nations League. Griezmann also won the Golden Boot at the 2016 UEFA European Championship, where France finished as runners-up.
In a heartfelt farewell message shared via video on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Griezmann expressed his gratitude and emotion. “It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolour adventure, and see you soon,” he said.
