Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called for greater collaboration between all branches of government to ensure that the judiciary remains a pillar of justice and a reliable safeguard for citizens. Speaking at a special prayer to mark the start of the 2024/2025 Legal Year at the Lagos Central Mosque, the governor, represented by his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, reiterated the state’s commitment to supporting and strengthening the judiciary.

Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the judiciary’s critical role in maintaining justice and order, stressing that the executive would continue to work closely with the judiciary to ensure swift justice delivery. He also noted the importance of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

The governor highlighted key reforms, including the ongoing review of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law and the digitalisation of court processes, which have improved efficiency through innovations like remote court sittings and e-filing. These efforts, he said, have reinforced the integrity of the legal system, ensuring it remains a beacon of hope for citizens.
