Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has expressed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should be held accountable for breaching provisions of the Electoral Act.
Fintiri, who also serves as the Chairman of the Edo PDP National Campaign Council, made this statement on Sunday during a press briefing at the party’s situation room in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
The governor voiced concerns over the exclusion of PDP agents from collation centers, which he said casts serious doubts on the transparency and fairness of the electoral process.
He urged INEC to adhere to its established guidelines and ensure that election results are collated in a manner that is both transparent and impartial. Additionally, Fintiri cited figures from the party’s collation agent and refuted accusations that he had prematurely announced the outcome of the governorship election.
