The Kano State Government has announced a public holiday on Monday, September 23, 2024, to celebrate the 7th day of Maulud Nabiy, honoring the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Governor Abba Yusuf emphasized that the Prophet’s teachings are a source of mercy and righteousness that should be embraced in daily life. He urged the Muslim community to remain committed to the Qur’an and Sunnah and to reflect the moral virtues of Prophet Muhammad, whose life exemplifies integrity, honesty, and service to humanity.
In his Maulud Nabiy message, the governor encouraged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for peace and prosperity for the state and the nation. This message was conveyed in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu Dantiye, released to the press on Friday. Governor Yusuf highlighted that the Prophet’s life remains a timeless guide for promoting peace, justice, humility, and compassion in both personal and communal life.
