The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, has issued a directive for the immediate commencement of efforts to restore the electricity supply at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, a state-owned institution located in Katsina. The move is part of a broader initiative to address critical infrastructural needs within the university and ensure that students and staff have access to a stable power supply for academic and operational activities.

To facilitate the project, the governor has approved a substantial allocation of N300 million for the completion of two distinct electricity projects within the university. These projects are expected to provide a long-term solution to the institution’s power challenges, improving the overall learning environment and the university’s capacity to function efficiently.

The Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Faskari, revealed these details in a statement issued on Saturday in Katsina. The statement, signed by Abdullahi Yar’adua, the Director of Press for the Secretary to the State Government, emphasized the state government’s commitment to investing in critical infrastructure that directly impacts the educational sector.

Faskari noted that the projects would not only restore electricity but also ensure its sustainability, reflecting Governor Radda’s focus on improving educational facilities across the state. The government’s swift approval and execution of the electricity projects are expected to significantly enhance the quality of education at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University and demonstrate the administration’s dedication to meeting the needs of its public institutions.
