President Bola Tinubu welcomed the news of several successful military operations against security threats in the Northwest, which brought significant relief on Saturday. The operations, conducted by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, resulted in the killing of notorious bandit leader Halilu Sububu, who had been terrorizing communities in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other areas of the region.
In addition, another terrorist leader, Sani Burki, was eliminated in a joint operation in Katsina. The troops also dismantled a terrorist hideout in Kaduna, where 13 kidnapped students were rescued. Tinubu, expressing satisfaction with the outcomes, stated that the success of these missions reaffirmed the capability of Nigeria’s security forces to restore peace and stability in the country.
The statement, released by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, emphasized the President’s praise for the military leadership, intelligence agencies, and frontline troops for their courageous efforts and coordinated approach. The statement was titled, “President Tinubu Commends Military on Successful Operations in North-West, Pledges Sustained Support.”
Onanuga highlighted that the achievements followed Tinubu’s directive for service chiefs to relocate to the Northwest to oversee operations until normalcy is restored. The President acknowledged the improved security landscape and encouraged the military and security agencies to continue their work until all immediate and future threats are fully neutralized.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for the military, pledging to assist them in achieving the critical goal of ensuring nationwide safety and security.
