Chief Ajuri Ngelale, who served as the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, has resigned from his position. The Presidency confirmed this in a statement released on Saturday.
Ngelale explained that he had submitted a memo to Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, in which he notified him of his decision to take an indefinite leave of absence.
Additionally, Ngelale mentioned that he had resigned from his roles as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
He cited medical issues affecting his immediate family as the reason for stepping down from his duties.
The statement conveyed that Ngelale had informed the Chief of Staff about his intention to take an indefinite leave to address pressing medical concerns within his family. He acknowledged the urgency of state matters but emphasized that his decision, which involved stepping away from his roles, came after careful consideration and discussions with his family due to the worsening medical situation at home. He expressed hope to resume his duties in the future, when circumstances allow, and requested privacy for his family during this period.
