Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has officially finalized his transfer to Atlético Madrid, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
The move was initially set but fell through when Chelsea altered the terms of the agreement. The transfer was linked to a sequence of deals, including Atlético Madrid striker Samu Omorodion’s proposed move to Stamford Bridge. However, Omorodion’s transfer fell apart after Chelsea discovered an injury during his medical.
Gallagher was temporarily reintegrated into Chelsea’s squad while the club shifted their focus to Joao Félix as part of the new arrangement with Atlético Madrid.
