AAC’s Yunusa Muhammad Wins Papa Ward Councilorship in Bauchi, Defeats PDP’s Ashiru Mohammad Papa

Yunusa Muhammad of the African Action Congress (AAC) has secured a significant victory in the councilorship election for Papa Ward in Bauchi State. The results, officially declared on Saturday, August 17, by Returning Officer Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar at the Darazo collation center, reveal that Muhammad won with 1,156 votes. His victory came at the expense of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ashiru Mohammad Papa, who garnered 1,053 votes.

The election, marked by its competitive nature, also saw Idris Mohammad of the All Progressives Congress (APC) finishing in third place with 290 votes. The outcome reflects a notable shift in the political landscape of Papa Ward, as AAC’s Muhammad surpasses the incumbent party’s candidate in a closely watched contest. The results highlight the dynamic nature of local politics in Bauchi State and the growing influence of the AAC in the region.
