President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea. His Gulfstream jet landed at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. This visit marks his 22nd international trip since assuming office 15 months ago.
Upon arrival, Tinubu was welcomed by high-ranking officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
During his visit, Tinubu and Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Mbasogo finalized an agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project, strengthening their bilateral partnership. The agreement addresses legislative and regulatory aspects, pipeline establishment and operation, gas transit, and ownership.
Tinubu highlighted that the agreement would enhance gas exploration and job creation. He noted that discussions with Mbasogo also covered employment, food security, multilateral relations, and conflict resolution on the continent.
