The Labour Party (LP) has distanced itself from Chief Olusola Ebiseni, Secretary General of the Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere, who recently claimed to be the party’s candidate for the Ondo State governorship election on November 16.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, clarified that Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi, who won the party’s primary election in June, is the official candidate for the upcoming polls.
Ifoh also noted that Ebiseni, who previously ran for governor under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and lost, has not yet resigned from the PDP or formally joined the Labour Party.
