Edo Election: Oshiomhole, Others Launch Campaign for Monday Okpebholo

The reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, along with former Governor Adams Oshiomhole and other key political figures, will officially kick off the campaign for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Tuesday, ahead of the September 21 election.

This was confirmed by Edo APC Chairman, Jarret Tenebe, during an exclusive phone conversation with PUNCH Online on Monday. Tenebe also mentioned that the campaign will move to Edo Central on Wednesday, where they plan to engage with stakeholders and grassroots voters.

The campaign launch follows the National Working Committee’s recent announcement of a 197-member campaign team for the governorship election. Key figures expected to attend the campaign include Cross River Governor Bassey Out, who is leading the campaign, Katsina Governor Dikko Radda, who serves as co-chairman, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as Assistant Secretary, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Other prominent figures anticipated at the event are Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other APC governors.
