The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has voiced concern over the rising incidents of kidnapping in various communities across the state.

Deputy Speaker Muhammad Oyanki brought the issue to light as a matter of public interest, prompting discussion among Assembly members during Monday’s plenary session in Lafia.

Following deliberations, Speaker Danladi Jatau announced the Assembly’s resolution, instructing local government council chairmen to organize security summits within two weeks. These summits, to be held in collaboration with traditional rulers and security agencies, aim to address the growing threat.

Jatau commended Oyanki and the Assembly members for their constructive input on the matter. He also urged the public to cooperate with security forces by providing valuable information to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.
