President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian Presents Proposed Cabinet to Parliament for Approval

On August 11, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian submitted his proposed cabinet to the Iranian Parliament for a confidence vote, as reported by Azernews, referencing Iranian sources. The lineup includes Abbas Araghchi for Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aziz Nasirzadeh for Minister of Defense, Eskander Momeni for Minister of Internal Affairs, Mohsen Paknejad for Minister of Oil, and Abbas Aliabadi for Minister of Energy, among other appointees across 19 ministries.

Starting on August 17, the Iranian Parliament will convene to deliberate and vote on the confidence of these nominees.

Recall: Pezeshkian, a member of the “Reformers” camp, secured the presidency in the second round of the extraordinary elections held on July 5, winning approximately 16.4 million votes against his rival, Said Jalili of the “Conservatives,” who received 13.5 million votes.
