The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has entered into a partnership with the Spanish club Sevilla FC. NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye signed the agreement during his visit to Sevilla’s facilities in Spain.
The collaboration aims to provide expertise in sports development, with a particular emphasis on coach training and nurturing young Nigerian talent.
“We have 20 clubs in the Nigerian Premier League, each with its own youth academy. I am well aware of Sevilla FC’s history and accomplishments,” Elegbeleye said during his visit.
“Sevilla FC is a distinguished club with numerous trophies in Spain and Europe. Their development strategy and youth programs present a valuable opportunity for Nigeria.
“We believe that the top players from the Nigeria Youth League will be able to train here each season. With your support and training, they can return as improved players.
“We also have a training agreement for our coaches, which will be highly beneficial for us. This partnership is a win-win for everyone involved in the NPFL.”
