Jamal Musiala scored again as Germany continued their winning streak at Euro 2024, defeating Hungary to become the first team to reach the knockout stages.

The Bayern Munich forward shone throughout the match, netting midway through the first half and narrowly missing another goal with a powerful shot just past the post. He received a standing ovation when he was substituted late in the second half.

Hungary contested Musiala’s opening goal, arguing that Ilkay Gundogan had fouled defender Willi Orban before passing to Musiala, who fired into the roof of the net.

A video assistant referee (VAR) check upheld the goal, and Musiala celebrated with his teammates in front of Hungary’s supporters behind the goal.

Hungary thought they had equalized just before halftime, but Roland Sallai’s rebound header was ruled out for offside.

In the second half, Germany extended their lead when former Manchester City player Gundogan, left unmarked, comfortably scored past goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
