INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has pledged that the upcoming Edo State governorship election on September 21 will genuinely reflect the electorate’s choice.
Speaking in Benin during a meeting with the 17 political parties vying in the election, Prof. Yakubu emphasized the importance of playing by the rules to ensure a peaceful electoral process.
He assured all parties of equitable treatment before, during, and after the election. Despite this assurance, the INEC chairman expressed concern about the significant number of uncollected Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in the state.
