After a bitter-sweet season, head coach Roberto de Zerbi will part ways with Brighton after their final Premier League game of the season against Manchester United at home this Sunday.
Chairman Tony Bloom announced that the club and De Zerbi have “mutually agreed” on his departure.
De Zerbi, 44, who previously managed Shakhtar Donetsk, joined Brighton in September 2022 on a four-year contract.
Under his guidance, Brighton achieved their highest-ever finish in the top flight last season, securing sixth place and qualifying for European competition for the first time in the club’s history.
“Roberto has given us two remarkable seasons, leading the club to new heights, including our first-ever European campaign, which will remain a cherished memory for Albion fans,” said Bloom.
“We have mutually agreed to end Roberto’s contract at a time that suits both parties, allowing us to plan for next season and giving Roberto plenty of time to consider his next move.”
According to BBC Sport, one potential replacement for De Zerbi is Kieran McKenna, who recently led Ipswich Town to Premier League promotion.
