Osimhen scoresa stunning header against Monza

Former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba commended Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen for his exceptional goal during Napoli’s recent match against Monza.

Osimhen’s goal, an impressive header likened to a basketball jump shot, marked the opening score of the game. This goal garnered widespread attention in the football community, earning Osimhen the nickname “Osi-Air” for his remarkable aerial skills.

Despite sustaining an injury while executing this extraordinary goal, Drogba expressed admiration for the young striker’s performance. Reflecting on the goal, the former striker acknowledged that he wouldn’t have attempted such a feat during his playing days.

“I witnessed Victor score that goal against Monza. It was incredible! He got hurt, I thought. I wouldn’t have dared to challenge for that ball; it’s unbelievable. An extraordinary goal!” he remarked, as quoted by The Napolista.

According to reports from Sky’s Studios via The Napolista, Osimhen’s leap measured 2.23 meters, although this fell short of his previous record-setting jump of 2.58 meters during Napoli’s victory over Spezia.

In the earlier match against Spezia, Osimhen achieved an astounding 71cm leap, reaching a height of 8.47 feet (2.58 meters) – higher than the crossbar (8 feet) – before heading the ball past Spezia goalkeeper Bartłomiej Drągowski.
