The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has injected an additional $400 million into the economy to address what it has identified as ‘verified and legitimate requests.’
Governor of the CBN, Yemi Cardoso, made this announcement following the conclusion of the Monetary Policy Committee meeting on Tuesday.
Cardoso affirmed that the CBN will continue its efforts to discern genuine requests and fulfill them accordingly.
This latest move follows previous interventions by the apex bank, which saw over $2 billion cleared.
Furthermore, Governor Cardoso recently disclosed that a CBN audit uncovered fraudulent forex claims amounting to over $2.2 billion.
