Third Mainland Bridge to Close for 24 Hours: Federal Ministry of Works

The Federal Ministry of Works has announced a temporary closure of both sides of the Third Mainland Bridge, scheduled from noon on Wednesday to noon on Thursday.

This closure, disclosed by Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, is part of the ongoing rehabilitation efforts on the bridge. Kesha explained that the shutdown is essential to facilitate a crucial phase of the repair works.

During this period, the bridge will be inaccessible to all traffic, necessitating the use of alternative routes. Motorists are urged to cooperate with traffic management officials to ensure smooth flow and minimize inconvenience. Kesha expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding and cooperation, apologizing for any inconvenience caused.

In a similar vein, the Lagos State Government has issued a notice regarding the closure. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, emphasized the importance of adhering to alternative routes during the 24-hour period.

Osiyemi assured the public that measures will be in place to manage traffic effectively and reduce disruptions. He extended gratitude for the public’s patience and cooperation during this essential phase of maintenance.
