President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have expressed their condolences to the family of Cairo Ojougboh, the former Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) official who passed away on Wednesday.
Ojougboh reportedly collapsed in his office in Abuja while watching the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa.
In a statement released by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu offered prayers for Ojougboh’s peaceful rest and extended comfort to his family, encouraging them to draw strength and solace from God and the cherished memories of the late APC leader.
Similarly, Atiku mourned Ojougboh’s passing in a Facebook post on Thursday, describing him as a close friend whose love for Nigeria was profound. He highlighted Ojougboh’s patriotism and dedication to the country, expressing personal sorrow at his loss and urging others to remember his commitment to Nigeria.
Ojougboh, who also served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007, was a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.
