A considerable turnout of Minna locals took to the streets to voice their discontent regarding the escalating prices of essentials and the overall cost of living in Niger State’s capital.
Blocking the Minna-Bida Road at the bustling Kpakungu roundabout from as early as 7 am on Monday, the demonstrators made their frustrations known.
Tensions flared when police intervention was met with resistance, leading law enforcement to resort to firing several warning shots into the air to disperse the crowd and prevent further escalation.
This is a developing story.
