On Sunday, tragic news emerged as Bukar Abba Ibrahim, the inaugural civilian governor of Yobe State, passed away while undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia, as confirmed by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
The announcement, conveyed through Buni’s Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, conveyed that the former governor, also a former Senator representing Yobe East district, breathed his last on Sunday and is set to be laid to rest in Saudi Arabia.
Condolences are to be offered to Governor Mai Mala Buni at the Government House in Damaturu. Abba Ibrahim, a prominent political figure who passed away at the age of 75, was the spouse of Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a current legislator representing Gujba, Gulani, Damaturu, and Tarmuwa Federal Constituency.
Governor Buni has additionally instructed that all funeral arrangements and condolences be managed by the state government to accord the late governor a state burial and due respect.
