Umar Ibrahim, the National Secretary of the Labour Party, disclosed that the collection of forms is set to commence on December 28, 2023, and will conclude on January 4, 2024.
The party’s leadership has also outlined the fees for both Expression of Interest and Nomination forms. Specifically, for the Senate, the fees stand at N1.5 million and N3.5 million, for the House of Representatives, N1 million and N2 million, and for the House of Assembly, N100,000 and N500,000. Notably, female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD) are exempt from these fees.
In adherence to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) schedule, the by-elections are necessitated by the resignation or demise of members of the National and State Houses of Assembly. The vacancies span two Senatorial Districts, four Federal Constituencies, and three State Constituencies, encompassing nine states across the Federation.
