Tinubu Hails Collaborative Success: National Assembly Support Key to Economic Transformation

President Bola Tinubu expressed optimism about the ongoing economic transformation efforts under his administration, crediting the collaborative support from the National Assembly, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House of Representatives Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

Addressing a colloquium marking the 61st birthday of the Senate President in Abuja, President Tinubu highlighted the joint evaluation of challenges between the executive and the legislature, aiming to formulate effective solutions for the benefit of Nigerians.

Praising Senate President Akpabio’s leadership journey, President Tinubu acknowledged his commitment to national development, citing Akpabio’s role as a commissioner in Akwa Ibom State and his transformative tenure as a two-term Executive Governor.

Reflecting on Akpabio’s impact, President Tinubu recalled the life-saving infrastructure projects in Akwa Ibom, specifically noting the drainage system that played a crucial role in preserving lives and livelihoods.

Senate President Akpabio reciprocated the praise, commending President Tinubu for visionary leadership and for being the first President to openly endorse him as Senate President. Akpabio emphasized the collaborative approach between the executive and the National Assembly for the transformative agenda.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed appreciation for President Tinubu’s clear economic vision, departing from what he described as “impulsive programs.” Keynote speaker Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) lauded the President for his courage, diligence, and the appointment of competent individuals, contributing to the nation’s growth and recovery.
