A formidable coalition of over 200 private legal practitioners hailing from the 19 Northern States has voluntarily rallied to support Governor Kabir Yusuf in his appeal case for the gubernatorial election at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Asserting the paramount importance of upholding the rule of law to ensure the integrity of every Nigerian’s vote, these legal professionals expressed unwavering solidarity with Yusuf, vehemently denouncing the Appeal Court’s judgment favoring the APC as a glaring miscarriage of justice.
In a resolute and principled stand, the lawyers offered their services as private legal practitioners, explicitly stating their commitment to actively engage in the litigation in support of Governor Yusuf at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Their objective is to be champions of truth, fighting earnestly to reclaim not only his mandate but also that of the people of Kano State, as emphasized by Ibrahim.
Beyond their dedicated involvement in this specific case, the legal consortium advocated for a comprehensive overhaul of the Electoral Act, calling for essential reforms to enhance the electoral process.
Additionally, they issued a strong plea to the Supreme Court, urging it to resist any external interference that could potentially tarnish the image of the judiciary and compromise the sacred principles of the rule of law.
